SOURCE – Can you introduce yourselves – where are you from, who does what and what are your roles in the band?
Fabrizio (Guitars/Vocals) – Hi, we are Black Capricorn and we are from Sardegna (Italy). We are a power trio with Rachela on drums, Virginia on bass and Fabrizio on guitars and vocals. The few times we play live we add a second guitarist.
SOURCE – What were your key influences/inspirations in getting the band together?
Fabrizio (Guitars/Vocals) – Around 2007 life turned dark to us for several reasons, Fabrizio start writting songs in that mood. This is how start everything in our music. All of us are influenced by 70s rock and metal music, but of course we still following some bands of today.
SOURCE – What’s the story behind the new album Omega – how did you approach writing and how did it come together?
Fabrizio (Guitars/Vocals) – For that album we’ ve just let flow the inspiration, at some point we realized that we had songs for 2 album, so it become clear it will be a double album. We didn’t follow any specific idea/rules/hype, that is how all our music comes from, but this time we have a lot of songs. The main problem was recording all also because we usually record our music in an open air patio in a house on the country side. So basically disc 1 has been recorded on october 2016 and disc 2 has been recorded on march 2017. We are all satisfied for what we did including the sound recording (we usually record and mix everything by ourselves, for the mastering we give all to mr Toro, the main man behind the buttons).
SOURCE – What, in your opinion, is the stand out track on the album?
Fabrizio (Guitars/Vocals) – You cannot ask this to us aha. The whole album is great in our opinion, we’ve tried something different with some songs such as Antartide or Quest for Agartha, but actually, we are amazed by the whole album.
SOURCE – What do you hope people will take away from the album and your music in general?
Fabrizio (Guitars/Vocals) – We are grateful for any positive feedback we have received from people. For all of us it is just incredible that someone like BC music since the first album. We are very simple people and we would like people enjoy our music because it’s just classic, no complicated, only rock music. That’s all.
SOURCE – You’ve been around in the rock world and the music business for a long time. Tell us what your vibe is on the rock scene today as opposed to earlier Black Capricorn days.
Fabrizio (Guitars/Vocals) – We’ve started 10 years ago so, not so long but also not so short time. Basically we are astonished by the hype generated in these years through internet around the doom/stoner/psych scene. 10 years ago there were not so many rec. Labels interested in this music, few venue were involved in live gigs by bands of the scene. Now seems so normal even boring seeing all these stuff happening around this.
SOURCE – Have you experienced any differences in how the foreign press treats you and the band compared to how native press and media treats and writes about you?
Fabrizio (Guitars/Vocals) – Basically Italy is not the land where doom/psych can be treated like big bands like in heavy metal/power/epic or other stuff. Despite of this all the press and media are more or less similar around Europe. The only difference we can see is the fact that European are more focused on our music than Italians, we don’t know why, but it is like we are stranger in our land and treated like old friends in other country, especially in Germany.
SOURCE – Before we wrap things up here is there anything you would like to say to your fans and followers?
Fabrizio (Guitars/Vocals) – I’m not a messiah aha so I don’t have any particular things to say, just as a band we wish to thank all the people that dig our music. Thank you so much.
