SOURCE – I really enjoy the new album. I can’t seem to stop listening to it. Can you tell us a little bit about the title track Skeletons and what it’s about?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – Thanks, man. Well, the title of the song represents secrets from the past that keep you from moving on in life. It’s a song about all the shit from way back in your life, you try to bury deep, but that keeps on resurfacing.

SOURCE – Tell us about the writing process and band practice. What do both of these things look like?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – The process usually starts with either Alex or Jesper bringing some riffs to the table.

Then we usually arrange the songs collectively and write the drums and bass lines, before I lastly lay down the vocal lines. When a song is written, we usually record full demos to rehearse to, before entering the studio.

SOURCE – It seems a new band is presented to us every month that looks and sounds the same. What sets you apart and makes you different?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – I think, we separate us from the pack by not buying into current trends. We make music from inspirations spanning over the last ten years of our lives, and we tend to make music with total disregard for conventional genres in metal. We don’t care about Djent.

SOURCE – Can you introduce us to your band members and tell us whether we should know them from other bands or projects. Do they have other activities at this moment in time?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – Blood Label consists of me Kenneth on vocals, guitarists Alex and Jesper, Nikolaj on bass and drummer Bastian. You might recognize Nikolaj from live appearances with Hatesphere the last 6 months, where he’s filling in for their regular bassist, who is currently suffering from some severe illness. Alexander is former of the Danish death metal band Dawn of Demise and has the last couple of years been playing with The Burning, a Danish cross-over thrash band. Drummer Bastian recently joined Dawn of Demise.

SOURCE – In what ways are music and lifestyle closely related?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – Music and lifestyle tend to overlap due to the interest of music being so time consuming for us. I myself listen to hours of music daily, which I always subconsciously reflect on in relation to our own music. Besides we all spend a lot of our spare time working on the band.

SOURCE – Have you experienced any differences in how the foreign press treats you and the band compared to how native press and media treats and writes about you?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – The Danish press obviously takes more interest in us, because we’re a local band. But the foreign press has also more recently shown some interest in our music. In my experience, they all tend to treat us pretty well.

SOURCE – Given the current state of the music industry, how important is a strong live performance to a band’s success?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – Live performances is alpha omega nowadays due to the value of recorded music being in such decline. Live performances is the best way for artists, big and small, to make a decent living.

SOURCE – What’s the pros and cons with the internet music wise do you think?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – I think, internet music in some way is beneficiary for both artist and consumer.Artists now have a much easier way to distribute their music to the entire world, and consumers can enjoy all the world’s music for much less money than 10 years ago. Of course, internet music is also the main reason, why the value of recorded music is declining.

SOURCE – Is there anything else that keeps all of you busy aside from music?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – Yeah well, some of us in the band are very much into soccer, and this keeps us pretty busy from time to time. Especially we enjoy watching Premier League on saturdays. Some of us also spend time playing Playstation and Xbox.

SOURCE – Well my friend, it’s been amazing talking with you. Thank you so much for taking time to have this conversation. Is there any thoughts you’d like to leave our readers or fans with?

Kenneth Klitte (Vocals) – You’re absolutely welcome. Well, if you haven’t checked out our new single yet, and you tend to enjoy fierce death and thrash metal and solid rock melodies, you definitely should give us a try! Take care!
