SOURCE – Is there a particular approach to writing the album? Collaborative, or how does the process go for the band?

James Monteith (Guitar) – It varies. However on this album the process was usually started by me making an instrumental demo, Jon would get some lyric ideas down, and Rachel would take those and build her vocal patterns. Nick would then rewrite the drum parts, And we’d collectively finish of the arrangements. I might then top it off with some lead parts if the song needed something extra.

SOURCE – Does that change your goals and expectations for the record?

James Monteith (Guitar) – No we have no set format, we just work together the best we can to make the music we want to make.

SOURCE – Was there a conscious choice in putting Killer and Respect End as the lead singles to showcase the change in style?

James Monteith (Guitar) – Respect ends was a single as we had a really cool video idea for it and it felt like one of the most ‘single’ style songs. We chose killer as we had the tattoo timelapse video from the cover art, and it seemed to go best with this track.

SOURCE – Are there any bands you’ve drawn inspiration from for this album, or was it trying to do your own thing?

James Monteith (Guitar) – Musically it’s very much inspired by thrash and HC from the the 90s/00s. So Biohazard, Hatebreed, Madball, Strife, Stampin Ground.. and Slayer.

SOURCE – These days videos are not played on music TV, but on social media. How important are they in the promotion process?

James Monteith (Guitar) – Most people discover new things via social media, so videos are essential for reaching new audiences that way. If anything they are more important than ever.

SOURCE – One thing that’s become popular during the pandemic is live stream concerts. Do you think that that’s going to be something that will go away once everything gets back to normal?

James Monteith (Guitar) – I think livestreams are not just an alternative to concerts, but are now a whole new way to showcase a performance. Its also a great way to get your show seen by people in places you can’t tour for whatever reason. I think they are here to stay.

SOURCE – Who are your top 5 all-time favorite Brazilian metal bands?

James Monteith (Guitar) – Sepultura (who we’re touring with in the UK in June), Nervosa, Torture Squad.. I don’t know any more, will check out!

SOURCE – Anything else you’d like to mention or promote?

James Monteith (Guitar) – Please check out our record, follow us on socials and if you’d like to see us live tell your local promoters!
