SOURCE – “Winterreise” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Tim De Gieter (Amenra, Brutus, The K.) at Much Luv Studio in Lembeke, Belgium, who has a great reputation in the industry. What were you trying to achieve sonically?

Vincent Dessard (Vocals) – We have followed Tim De Gieter’s work for the past few years. We worked with him in the past, he mixed our previous album and remastered our first album. His vision of music corresponds really well to ours. He brought the heaviness and dirt we wanted in our music, while still keeping the musicality of the different songs. His contribution as a producer was really important, it helped us to take a step back, to reconsider the different songs and make them evolve in the studio.

SOURCE – Is it an easy or difficult process to decide what songs to push as singles/videos album to album?

Vincent Dessard (Vocals) – We need to consider which songs is gonna reflect the best the image we wish to portray. When thinking this way, it makes it easier to select the singles. In April, we’ll make a music video with the song ‘Carved’, we chose that one because it represents the best the emotions that are in the album.

SOURCE – Are there particular songs that were more of a challenge from the initial idea to the final competition – or did everything develop smoothly for the record?

Vincent Dessard (Vocals) – The composition of the album started in early 2020. The path to the final versions has been long, and painful at times. Once in the studio, some changes were made or brought by Tim. Sometimes details, sometimes stronger decisions like removing a guitar on “Blank” to have a moment with only bass and drums.

SOURCE – What do you consider some of the biggest challenges facing Lethvm this early in the band’s career?

Vincent Dessard (Vocals) – To expland our outreach. We have worked on our music and are very happy. Now, we’d like for it to be listened to.

SOURCE – You are a part of the Purple Sage PR firm – tell us what it has been like working with this team of people, and some of the skills/tools you’ve been able to use and think about to apply to the work that you do promoting and pushing this band?

Vincent Dessard (Vocals) – We are glad to work with Purple Sage PR, the relationship we have built is very human, personal and professional. For now, we are only at the beginning of the promotion, we can discuss this again in a few months!

SOURCE – How do you view the state of metal currently? What do you enjoy most about the scene currently, and what changes (if any) would you like to see for the better of all parties involved?

Vincent Dessard (Vocals) – In the underground scene in which we evolve, there have been very interesting new releases in 2022: LLNN, Hangman’s Chair, Throwing Bricks, Wyatt E, Psychonaut, Doodseskader, etc. I am happy to remain suprised by all the novelty.

SOURCE – We all know the global pandemic had a major impact on the entertainment industry. How did you handle things in that downtime, and how do you think humanity as a whole will be coming out of this?

Vincent Dessard (Vocals) – During the pandemic, like many other groups, we composed. Now, many bands are touring because there are so many releases. Concert venues seem a bit crowded, which makes it more difficult to put your project forward.

When it comes to humanity as a whole… my opinion doesn’t really matter, but I think it made the rich richer and the poor poorer. Same as usual…

SOURCE – That would be all for this time, thank you for the interview, and I wish you all the best! Your last message to fans over here?

Vincent Dessard (Vocals) – Thank you for following us, I hope that you’ll feel the same feelings as the ones that we wanted to share. And if someone feels like organising a tour in Brazil, we are down for it!
