SOURCE – What’s it been like seeing the positive reaction to One online and through social media?
Anthony Vanacore (Drums) – We are very happy of course, and that positivity will give us even more energy and inspiration to keep making music from the heart! Thank you everyone and keep the positive energy coming!
SOURCE – What are you most proud of with the album, as it is your first release?
Anthony Vanacore (Drums) – We are most proud of its uniqueness and honesty and so many reviews have confirmed what we knew in our hearts all along: this album is different from anything you’ve heard before.
SOURCE – So other than being a part of Inside Out Music, how did this come about? What do you like about hosting it and chatting with other artists?
Anthony Vanacore (Drums) – We sent them a few tracks and it resonated with them, we are fortunate to be a part of the Inside Out label! Music is very important to our lives, we love to communicate and learn from other bands and artists, it creates a positive feedback loop that can make life ric
SOURCE – The new video for the Farewell came out recently – is it an easy process to decide what track(s) to promote the record, especially one such as this?
Anthony Vanacore (Drums) – If it were possible we would love to have a MV for every song on the album! But the three tracks chosen give a nice introduction to the vibe of OU, it wasn’t easy to choose.
SOURCE – In addition to your musical interests, what else do you occupy your time with?
Anthony Vanacore (Drums) – Cooking!
SOURCE – What’s the status regarding the pandemic in China at the moment, are you allowed to visit clubs and restaurants now or are there restrictions?
Anthony Vanacore (Drums) – The pandemic here has gotten serious again and presently (May, 2022) a lot of venues and restaurants are temporarily closed. We hope things will get back to normal again soon.
SOURCE – What are your thoughts on the ever-changing, evolving landscape of the music industry? Are there aspects that you enjoy better than others, or do you miss the older models where physical sales mattered most?
Anthony Vanacore (Drums) – As a kid/teenager who grew up in the 90s, I do miss the anticipation of an album about to drop that you would wait months or years for, and when the day arrived you would run to the record store and buy the CD or cassette, go back home put the record on and sit in front of the CD player all day, and that’s all you did. You sat in front of the CD player and listened to that record you bought with probably all the money you had to your name, and it was the most important thing in your world at that moment. If you’re disciplined you can still do that, but now we can listen to just about anything, anywhere, anytime, instantly, so the reality of easy access to music might make this process seem superfluous. There’s obviously pluses to the easy access to music now, but the importance we placed on an album before streaming and the ubiquitousness of the internet and cell phones and social media is a feeling I’m afraid may very well forever be lost from people born in the 2000s onward. I hope I’m wrong though!
SOURCE – What can we expect as far as new horizons for OU?
Anthony Vanacore (Drums) – Our second album is almost complete compositionally! We hope to have the next album out before too long and we hope to bring this music live on tour around the world! Thank you for the support!
