Vomitory

SOURCE – We are very glad to see Vomitory back in business. If we go back in time, we learn that it has been since 2011 – when Opus Mortis VIII came out – since you were active. What happened next that you wanted to have a break or stop activities?

Peter Ostlund (lead guitar) – I guess different things for each of us in the band made us feel it was time to call it quits. One of the things for me was becoming a father for the first time.

SOURCE – All Heads Are Gonna Roll has really been creating a buzz within the metal world and getting great reviews and write-ups. How does that make you feel?

Peter Ostlund (lead guitar) – Proud and happy of course. I’m happy that I get to play with guys that write such great songs.

SOURCE – What are some of the goals you set for yourselves with this album?

Peter Ostlund (lead guitar) – The biggest goal was to get it done in time so it could be released this spring and of course write the best songs we could.

SOURCE – Nowadays in every album the person responsible for the sound production is strongly mentioned especially when he is a known one. How Important do you think is the producer to the sound of a band?

Peter Ostlund (lead guitar) – We produced the album ourselves and we know how to sound like Vomitory.

SOURCE – What can you tell us about the video shoot for All Heads Are Gonna Roll? Was it an obvious choice to represent the album, and how do You feel about the video medium and its importance in these social media driven times?

Peter Ostlund (lead guitar) – We tried to make the video fit the song, intense and brutal. I think videos are cool and that you need a good video of you want your music to gain attention outside the existing fanbase.

SOURCE – What are your thoughts on the Sweden music community – as it seems to have developed its own distinct flavor and characteristics, Where a multitude of musicians and bands have been able to succeed Internationally as a result?

Peter Ostlund (lead guitar) – I think it’s really good. It’s good at giving young and new bands the opportunity to get access to rehearsal spaces and equipment at low cost when they are starting out for instance.

SOURCE – What does success mean to your personally? Has that definition changed from the early days you learned your craft to today?

Peter Ostlund (lead guitar) – Success for me is when our music has made someones day or life a little bit easier or happier.

SOURCE – What’s next for Vomitory, besides the album release?

Peter Ostlund (lead guitar) – Play festivals and do some touring and try to put on the best show that we can.
