SOURCE – What would you say the differences and similarities are between Suicide Squad/Power of the Hunter and the earlier material?
Bob Mayo (Vocals, Bass) – Suicide Squad is the second song we ever wrote, probably in 1983. This version was recorded in 1996. Power of the Hunter is a Tank cover, also recorded in 1996.
SOURCE – Were you surprised at how warmly received your comeback was a few years ago?
Bob Mayo (Vocals, Bass) – Yes, you never know how many people remember you after so many years. So to sell out the Middle East Club in Boston after 10 years was really amazing.
SOURCE – Did you or are there plans to shoot any videos for this album?
Bob Mayo (Vocals, Bass) – No, the band does not exist any more, and the new release is a 2-song EP of previously unreleased recordings, not a complete album.
SOURCE – Things have changed so much with the decline in sales, and now the emphasis on streaming instead of actually buying physical things. How do you even determine, from your end, if an album has been successful or not?
Bob Mayo (Vocals, Bass) – We consider it successful is we get positive feedback from the fans.
SOURCE – Are there any of your albums that didn’t get the response they deserved at the time, but in retrospect have really held up well?
Bob Mayo (Vocals, Bass) – I think none of our albums got the response they deserved, and all of them have really held up well!
SOURCE – You’ve seen a lot of changes in the music industry over the years. Can anything be done to fix or change its current state?
Bob Mayo (Vocals, Bass) – Who cares? We never really had anything to do with the ‘music industry’ and still don’t. We have always been underground.
SOURCE – Are you currently working on any other musical projects?
Bob Mayo (Vocals, Bass) – Yes I have a band called Robot Monster Army that has been recording for 10 years, we are on bandcamp.com
SOURCE – Do you have any shows or tours planned in support of the new album?
Bob Mayo (Vocals, Bass) – No!
